Playing Villain is Easier

Is it human nature to be attracted to the negative more than the positive? You hear actors that play villains say they connect more with the character than when they play better people. You also find that Villains have many fans because they find them appealing. But we are expected to be good people. We live and strive for that. We know that being bad comes with consequences that we do not want. We know about the Golden Rule. We have heard about Karma. We have learned about the Ten Commandments. All of these focus on making us better individuals. But why is there an appeal for undesirable things?

Someone once told me that "the law of attraction" could be the answer to this situation. The law of attraction states that like attracts like. Positive and negative thinking produces positive and negative results. Therefore if actors focus on the fact that playing a villain is easier than playing a hero, then it would show in their performances and their willingness to go that route in acting. What are your thoughts?
