I use to have this friend and I made jokes that I wouldn't date a guy like him because we were going to struggle for mirror time if we only had one mirror. I just thought he took too much time in dressing up. Styling his hair alone took forever. And he always said "Metros never had bad-looking days". Because of his quote, I always thought Metrosexuals were guys that looked good because they were into their physicality and fashion. I discovered I wasn't far from the mark when I looked at the definition. According to Wiki, Metrosexual is coined from the words, Metropolitan and Heterosexuals by writer Mark Simpson, in 1994, describing a man who spends a lot of time and money shopping for his appearance. Is it wrong for me to say when I think of the word, I think of David Beckham? Metrosexuals actually make me smile because I'm always impressed by the effort they put into their looks. It's refreshing to see that looking good is not just reserved for women.
